Procedure

Method

I prefer to work from life, with sittings of 2 hours length – the number of sittings will depend on the availability of the sitter.  With younger children I can use a combination of sketches from life and photographs, to avoid making unrealistic demands on the child.  For adults I can also combine sittings with work in the studio from photographic reference shots which I will take during the sessions.

Cost

The cost of a portrait will vary according to size, medium, and subject matter – so a large, full-length portrait will cost considerably more than a small head and shoulders painting.  There may also be travel costs and framing involved.  If you are interested in commissioning a painting, please contact me to discuss your requirements and I will be able to quote a price.
